After 11 years at Chigwell Row & nearly 37 years in the teaching profession today is my last day as Head Teacher at Chigwell Row. I would like to thank everyone for their gifts & kind wishes. It has been a privilege to have led the school over the last eleven years & I know that the school is in a good position to continue its journey forward. I am glad of the opportunity I have had to work alongside so many wonderful teachers & support staff. It has been a joy to provide opportunities for the children that have passed through the school to have memorable experiences while ensuring that they have had a secure foundation in reading, writing & maths. I have always looked upon the school as a community & not as an institution & I am sure that’s why so many visitors comment on the lovely atmosphere that Chigwell Row has. I wish Miss Dowling, staff & Governors all the very best for the future. Chigwell Row Infant School will always have a special place in my heart & in my prayers.
I’ve often been asked about my retirement plans & I have one or two things in mind. I sponsor the education of a Kenyan child through an organisation called ‘Compassion’ which organises sponsorship to provide education for children who otherwise wouldn’t receive it. In February I’ll be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for ‘Compassion’. If you would like to sponsor me, follow this link to my giving page https://challenges.compassionuk.org/profile/3699/stephen-hale. Thank you
